Welcome to Kindergarten at Garibaldi Highlands Elementary!
We are so excited to welcome you and your child to our school community! We can't wait to meet our new kindergarten learners and begin this exciting journey together. Your one-hour visit will include fun and engaging stations where children and parents can explore and play together. Partway through the session, parents will be invited to a short information session, while the children continue to enjoy the activities with our kindergarten teachers. We look forward to seeing you soon!

English & French Immersion Kindergarten Gradual Entry Schedule
2026/2027 School Year
Welcome to Kindergarten!
We are excited to welcome you and your child to the École Garibaldi Highlands Elementary family! Our staff and students are looking forward to meeting you and helping your child have a positive start to their kindergarten journey.
Please review the schedule above for important dates. In early September, we'll send you an email with your child's gradual entry group and all the information you'll need for a smooth start to kindergarten.
During Gradual Entry
- Please drop off and pick up your child at the same kindergarten classroom each day:
- Room 176 – French Immersion
- Room 172 – English Program
- Both classrooms are located in the courtyard beside the gym.
- There will be signs and friendly staff available to help you find your way.
What to Expect
- During gradual entry, your child will spend time with a teacher and a small group of children.
- Please note that this group may not include your child's permanent teacher or classmates.
- Classroom placements will be shared with families on Tuesday, September 10.
Before Your Child Starts
- Please return your Welcome to Kindergarten Information Sheet on your child's first day of gradual entry.
- All classrooms are supplied with the essential learning materials students need. These supplies are purchased through the annual school fee, which can be paid through school cash online.
- We also encourage you to visit our school website to learn more about our school and to explore our Kindergarten Resources section for helpful information.
